Your role

As an AI Solution Architect at Saab, you will sit at the intersection of advanced engineering and strategic business impact. You will be the driving force behind designing, building, and deploying scalable AI systems that address real-world challenges in defence, security, and critical infrastructure. With a background in Applied AI Engineering, you will bring both the technical depth and the architectural vision needed to take AI from proof of concept to production at scale.

This is a hands-on role where your decisions shape the AI infrastructure of tomorrow - and where your work directly contributes to keeping societies safe.

What You'll Do

Lead the end-to-end delivery of AI solutions - from requirements and system design through to deployment and monitoring in production environments

*

Leverage cloud AI services across AWS and/or Microsoft Azure to architect cost-effective and high performing solutions

*

Manage and process large-scale data using Spark or Kafka, ensuring robust data engineering practices

*

Communicate complex AI architectures and trade-offs clearly to both technical teams and executive stakeholders

*

Collaborate cross-functionally in a team setting with data/ML engineers, solution owners, and domain experts to deliver outcomes that matter

Your profile

You are a technically strong and outcome-oriented professional who combines engineering skills with strategic thinking. You thrive in environments where impact is visible and the problems are genuinely hard.

You bring:

3-7 years of experience in AI, ML, or software engineering roles, with growing expertise in applied and Generative AI

*

Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

*

Strong Python skills and practical experience building Generative AI applications - RAG pipelines, LLM-powered APIs, and prompt engineering using tools like Hugging Face, LangChain, and vector databases

*

Ability to work independently across the full solution lifecycle, from architecture and coding to deployment and iteration

*

Clear communicator who can explain AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders and align around outcomes

*

Strong project management abilities and a track record of effective stakeholder management

*

Outcome-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering measurable business value

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
