ECAD Tool Owner / EPLAN Specialist for a Global Engineering Environment in Linköping

Description

We are looking for a consultant to take overall responsibility for EPLAN within an international, technology-focused organisation. The assignment combines an understanding of electrical design with application management, user support and the development of working practices. You do not need to know every aspect from day one, but you should understand EPLAN and be able to drive initiatives in collaboration with users, IT and other technical teams.

About the assignment

As ECAD Tool Owner, you will have global responsibility for managing and further developing the EPLAN environment. The role combines technical and coordination responsibilities: gathering business requirements, leading discussions with key users and ensuring that tools, guidelines and integrations evolve in a structured way.

A key part of the assignment is the integration between EPLAN and Teamcenter via XPLM. You will take the lead on project activities related to this integration, including planning user testing and introducing the solution to different user groups. An electrical designer already provides backup support for administration and ongoing project activities, creating a solid foundation for handover and collaboration.

Your responsibilities will include

• Acting as the global administrator and Tool Owner for EPLAN.
• Leading and developing the organisation’s key user community.
• Gathering requirements, improvement suggestions and user feedback.
• Planning and implementing EPLAN updates.
• Creating and maintaining guidelines and shared working practices.
• Managing licences and related application management activities.
• Taking responsibility for the EPLAN infrastructure in collaboration with IT.
• Supporting key users and helping resolve issues efficiently.
• Taking ownership of the XPLM interface between EPLAN and Teamcenter.
• Leading projects related to the further development and rollout of the integration.
• Planning user testing and introducing new solutions to the relevant users.

Your profile

You have worked in electrical design and have practical experience with EPLAN. Your background may include roles such as electrical designer, EPLAN administrator, application specialist, CAD/ECAD coordinator or application manager. What matters most is that you understand users’ day-to-day work and can take clear ownership of tool-related matters.

You should be comfortable gathering requirements, coordinating activities and driving initiatives forward with multiple stakeholders. The role suits someone who is structured, communicative and solution-oriented, with the ability to move between technical details and a broader application management perspective.

Mandatory requirements

• Experience in electrical design.
• Practical experience with EPLAN.
• Ability to gather requirements and plan and drive activities.
• Strong communication skills in English, both spoken and written.

Desirable qualifications

• Experience in EPLAN administration or application management.
• Experience with Teamcenter.
• Experience with XPLM or similar integrations between ECAD and PLM systems.
• Experience with system upgrades, user testing or rollouts to multiple user groups.
• Experience leading key user networks or working in an international organisation.
